The Animation and Visual Effects department, together with the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) co-ran #DigitalSeniman, a highly engaging interactive VFX exhibit called 'Be a VFX Hero' at the fair where participants had the chance to experience being live on a greenscreen production set.
Over the Malaysia Day weekend, 14-15 September 2019, the Faculty of Creative Multimedia, MMU, launched our new BMm. (Hons.) Visual Effects alongside our freshly signed MMU-BASEFX Education-Industrial Partnership MOU at #MyDigitalMaker Fair 2019.

The team ran a full day workshop entitled "Empowering Research Institutes via Digital Media 101 - Techniques of Writing" where a series of talks were arranged to help encourage professors and senior academics write for online media (website, blogs, and social media). Let's get our stories heard!
This week, Malaysians were treated to free screenings of the most successful Thai films in the recent two years. Guests were treated to a Special Screening of "Bikeman" at the Opening Reception. Thank you for the invite!
Term 1820 Motion Graphics concludes with a final presentation of their 1 - 2 minutes motion graphics video. Students worked in groups to create either a PSA, event promo, or movie title sequence for their project.
It has been 10 years since the first movie 'GENG: Pengembaraan Bermula' was released. The new movie looks promising; adorable characters on an epic adventure in a fantasy historical Malay setting... I predict it will be a hit at the local box office!

The final year students of the Animation & Visual Effects programme, FCM, MMU are ready with their completed 2D animatics and this time, I've been invited to be on the judging panel with Nik Amir Mustapha, founder and award winning director from Lumatic Films, and Muhammad Fasya Daud, managing director and producer of Chain-FX Sdn. Bhd.
Usually a story coach, today I find myself on an exciting project to help position a new research hub as the premier research authority in the country. With the use of storytelling in branding, we hope to establish academics as celebrity subject matter experts in their respective fields.
